Myabelline Color Tattoo: Review & Swatches

I'm really liking all these long lasting cream eye products that have been coming out left and right in the last year or so. I appreciate even more that there are both high end and drug store varieties to choose from.  It's a smorgasbord of colors! Maybelline Color Tattoo is probably one of the better choices. There are variety of colors to choose from, and each seem to be nuanced (not just one basic color), they are long lasting, and the price is right ($5-$7). Each jar holds a lot of product in it as well (0.14 oz).

The Color Tattoo comes in nice glass jars that feels hefty, giving it a more high end vibe.  It closes nice and tight so you won't have any issues with the product drying out.  I also enjoy the fact there are a variety of colors from neutral to bright.  Maybelline also recently come out with 4 new limited edition shades to add to the core colors as well.  Hopefully they will continue occasionally adding new shades to the collection.

I haven't had an occasion to try these on their own since I always wear eye primer.  They do last through sweaty days without any issues though.  The color stays true and I don't have issues with creasing.  This is notable since occasionally with other cream products I get creasing even with primer.  Color Tattoos also double as a base for other eye shadows, if that's what you like to do.

Swatches

Audacious Asphalt is a medium silvery grey color with fine reflective particles that shimmer green, pink, and a lighter silver. Fierce and Tangy is a medium orange/salmon color (leans a little pinkish in the jar) with fine yellow reflective particles.  It has a distinct place in my heart, not only because it's orange, but because a special someone gave it to me.  Rich Mahogany is a dark, rich warm brown with fine red reflective particles that has a champagne sheen.  I included 2 angles of the swatches to try to show the different aspects of the colors.

Bottom Line: These are all beautiful colors and long lasting.  I love how these are nuanced with different colors underlying the main color.  There's a lot of product for the price as well.  It's totally worth it!
