Tech Tuesday: Fitbit One

Alright folks. I'm starting several new "series" on my blog for funsies (and in hope that if I stick to a scheduled post that I might stop being lazy...Here's to hoping). First of these series as seen in the title is Tech Tuesday. As the name implies it will cover some sort of "tech", gadget, or gizmo. Now I must warn you before hand that this particular series is going to be more sparse than the others I have planned. My "smarts" lean heavily toward the nerd side of the spectrum and not the geek side. That said, the "tech" to achieve first post status is the Fitbit One.  I got this last Christmas, and I've used it for long enough that I can make an educated reviewc.

Cover Girl Liquiline Blast Liner in Green Glow: Review & Swatches

Today I have the Cover Girl Liquiline Blast Liner in Green Glow. I bought this awhile back during my rather gloomy spring (and I guess that it's still technically spring for the next few days). I think this is a great all year round color, but it's a nice one to have to get a pop of color.

Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Overnight Peel Review

Sometimes I find myself a complete sucker for ads, and the Garnier Skin Renew was the result of such an instance. What drew me in is that I've recently noticed that my freckles (aka sun spots) on my face were getting darker, and I wanted a way to decrease it.

This peel contains glycolic acid (specifically alpha hydroxy acid-AHA) and vitamin C, two of the big buzz word worthy ingredients for skin care.  The whole purpose is to speed up exfoliation, which will in theory lead to even skin tone, smooth texture, brighten skin, and fade dark spots. All that while being gentle enough for regular nightly use, and it's also non-comedogenic (it won't clog pores).

I haven't use this product long enough to tell you about dark spots fading (it claims after 4 weeks, so I'll get back to you on that). However I do agree with the smooth texture and even skin tone claims (haven't quite made up my mind on the brightening skin claim). The peel is clear and used overnight (as stated), which is nice if you don't want others staring at you. Once it dries, it also stays put. When I wake up the next morning my skin is extra soft and lovely.  Thus far it hasn't irritated me or clogged my pores, but I haven't checked the daily use claim.

Bottom Line: I have yet to discover if this does fade darker spots, but for improving skin texture alone it's worth trying. Especially if you want to opt for a less obvious skin care improvement method.

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes Review

I've always been interested in trying out the Yes to brand, so when I came across a set of the Yes to Cucumbers products, I was all for trying it out. Especially since I was in need of the particular products offered. These Facial Towelettes are made to help remove makeup, dirt, and sweat with gentle moisture from aloe vera, while leaving the skin feeling smooth and refreshed. This biodegradable wipe claims to exfoliates, detoxes, and rejuvenates.

In my opinion these wipes are too dry. I personally like wipes to be on the wet/almost drenched side. It did remove dirt and sweat, but eye makeup didn't budge much. I agree that this formula was gentle, and it didn't dry my skin out.  I doubt it really exfoliates, and I can't speak to any detox. There's a pleasant cucumber smell that could be claimed as rejuvenating.

Bottom Line: This is too dry of a product to make it worth my while. I think you'll do better looking elsewhere.

Newest L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows: Review & Swatch

The newest shades of the L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows come to us from the Miss Candy Collection. Cherie Merie and Strawberry Blonde are two of the four available.  Again I find myself reviewing limited editions of a product line before the permanent line, but ce la vie.

L'Oreal Pistachio Dream Polish: Revie & Swatch

I'm a nail polish junkie, and I have problems with buying the same type of color polishes over and over again.  Of course the nuances makes the polishes slightly different, but I probably didn't need the extra polishes. That being said, the L'Oreal Pistachio Dream is NOT one of the colors. It's one of a kind, gorgeous polish, that I originally past up, assuming it was another mint green.
