Jane Cosmetics Reintroduction: Eye Product Review & Swatches

For us "older" ladies, we remember Jane Cosmetics as being an affordable drug store brand that had a myriad of cosmetic offerings. It was on par with Wet n Wild and NYC. Pricing was similar, and quality (pre-revamping) was similar. Then it all faded into nonexistence. Now that quality of drug store makeup has improved, Jane Cosmetics is making another go-round at an Ulta near you.

Maybelline Color Whisper Permanent Collection Part 1: Review & Swatches

To continue on with the Maybelline love I have recently, here are the permanent shades of the Color Whispers. Yes, I do own and like other brands of makeup, but since I have these handy, might as well knock these posts out. It's been in my "to-do" pile for a long bit. I've reviewed a limited edition shade prior to this post here, but I didn't want the permanent collection to go to the wayside. It's just as exciting and lovely as the fleeting colors that come and go with each season.

September SquareHue Box: Reveiw & Swatches

It's a miracle, I'm being good and posting my September SquareHue contents at the beginning of the month! Let's see how long I can keep up the good work. September's theme is The Serengeti Collection. Nice Africa theme to wave off my roomie goodbye who'll be in Africa this month.

Essie Madison Ave-hue: Review & Swatches

Essie Madison Ave-hue is another summer collection from the same name. It's very similar to the Naughty Nauticals collection shades since it has the silver shimmers in it. This is a very similar color to The Girls Are Out, but it's a pinker version.

Cover Girl Liquiline Blast Liner in Green Glow: Review & Swatches

Today I have the Cover Girl Liquiline Blast Liner in Green Glow. I bought this awhile back during my rather gloomy spring (and I guess that it's still technically spring for the next few days). I think this is a great all year round color, but it's a nice one to have to get a pop of color.

Essie First Timer Polish: Review & Swatch

Last of the three polishes from the Essie Resort Collection 2013 that I picked up is First Timer. If you want to see swatches of Come Here! or Into the Cab-ana, just click on their names. As I mentioned prior, these are a set of fabulous, fun, fashionable colors.

L'Oreal Pistachio Dream Polish: Revie & Swatch

I'm a nail polish junkie, and I have problems with buying the same type of color polishes over and over again.  Of course the nuances makes the polishes slightly different, but I probably didn't need the extra polishes. That being said, the L'Oreal Pistachio Dream is NOT one of the colors. It's one of a kind, gorgeous polish, that I originally past up, assuming it was another mint green.

Maybellline Summer 2013 Color Tattoos: Review & Swatches

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has been reading my posts, that I'm obsessed with Maybelline Color Tattoos, and just to prove it even more, here are some more from the summer limited edition collection. These are the somewhat duochrome colors that's been showing up in drug stores.  The colors today are Waves of White, Seashore Frosts, and Shady Shores.

Maybelline Color Whisper in Ravishing Pink: Review & Swatches

Like I did with the Revlon Lip Butter post, I'm reviewing a limited edition Maybelline Color Whisper prior to the originals.  Once again, since this is a time sensitive product, I wanted to review it for you before it leaves the stores. This color is in Ravishing Pink, and I found it on an end cap display in Walgreens during a BOGO half sale (end cap display picture after the jump). There are four colors total in this summer limited edition collection, and Ravishing Pink is one of the lighter shades available.

Essie Into the Cab-ana (Updated): Review & Swatches

Essie comes out with a lovely Resort Collection yearly, and they tend to be very nice colors. Resort Collection 2013 is no exception.  This year is a rather vibrant color selection, and Into the Cab-ana is no exception. It's a nice bright tropical water blue cream. It's lovely and bright without being loud and obnoxious.

Sally Hansen Mermaid's Tale: Review & Swatches

I know I was in the mood for spring only a little while ago, but I'm moving full force into summer now. Things have warmed up a bit, and all the pretty flowering trees have lost it's flowers. For my new pick me up, I need a flashy new nail polish. In comes the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Mermaid's Tale, a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe. Although I've mentioned my thoughts on cheaper dupes in a past post, I reiterate that generally I'm for them, especially if it comes at a cheaper price.  I've been wanting a polish that looks like this, but haven't been willing to shell out the big bucks for the original. Now I'm glad I waited since this one is half the price.

Updated Ipsy Glam Bag: April Review

This marks my second month of getting the Ipsy Glam Bag. The theme of this month is Pretty in Pink, which is a good theme since pink is usually a flattering color on most (as long as you find the right shade).  Everything was housed in a very plain white bag with pink trimming.  It's another bag that seems kinda pointless to have. I personally hate white as a clothing/accessory color just because I seem to get dirty easily.  It's rather alarming how quickly I get stains.  Regardless of personal preference, I got to experience first hand the customer service aspect of this subscription service since I did have a damaged item. I hate contacting customer service, but it's always important to have a good one.

SquareHue April Box: Review & Swatches

Now this is my third month of getting the SquareHue monthly nail polish subscription service. I decided at the beginning that I would give this service a good three months before deciding to continue it or not. To read and see swatches of the last two months, go here for March and here for February. SqaureHue's April box's theme is the Bloom Collection. This month's box brought all the fun bright spring colors that you want and expect.  The color choices are spot on, and brought some light to the dreary days outside.  At least it's dreary here, and I was in much need of a little bit of brightness.

Wet n Wild Fergie Perfect Pout Lip Color: Review & Swatches

Penthouse Sweet, Old School Glam, Fuchscianista, D-Vinely Chilled, Fergusen Crest Cabernet
Next items that I have from the Wet n Wild Fergie Center Stage Collection are the Perfect Pout Lip Colors. (For the review on the eyeshadow primer go here.) Now I'm a huge fan of their Mega Last Lip Colors, so I was more than happy to see a new lipstick formula for me to try out. I was even more excited by the fact that there were different finishes in the new formula as well. At $3-4 a pop, I couldn't resist them and got a few to try out.

e.l.f. Cream Liners: Review & Swatches

Cream/gel liners are one of those staples that all gals should have (in my opinion). Of course you need your everyday shades such as the blacks/browns/greys, but sometimes you need a little splash of color.  Here comes in these little lovelies, the e.l.f. Cream Eyeliners. At $3 a pop, you can get nearly whatever color you want, including the basics (11 shades currently).

NYX Gel Liner & Smudger in Teal: Review & Swatches

Last suggestion for some St. Patrick's day flare for those of you who just want a hint of green is the NYX Gel Liner & Smudger in Teal. For those of you who missed out on the other options: you can go for green eyes or turquoise nails. The NYX gel liners have 4 color options currently (black, brown, and blue besides the teal) and retail for around $7-8 wherever NYX products are sold (I got mine at Ulta).

China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise: Review & Swatches

Next on the journey of St. Patty's Day pizzazz is China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise nail polish.  Nail polish is a great option for those of you a little shy about going all out with colorful peepers.  This particular shade of polish is of the China Glaze neon range so it dries down matte.  I don't have too much experience with matte shades, but it's always good to branch out right?

Wet n Wild I Dream of Greenie: Review & Swatches

Since it's St. Patrick's Day, and no one likes being pinched, I figured I'd take this opportunity to do a few reviews on fun green cosmetic options to wear. First off on the list is the Wet n Wild I Dream of Greenie Color Icon Trio.  These are wonderful little trio palettes in general, which should be no surprise as these have been touted all over the makeup community since it's existence.  However, this particular trio doesn't get much love.  Maybe because it's a bunch of greens?  I dunno.  But what better day to pull out this bad boy than St. Patty's?

Revlon Sparkle Aplenty (Ritzy) Nail Polish: Review & Swatches

Revlon is one of the drug store brand of polishes (besides L'Oreal) that I think has really stepped up their game in terms of quality and unique shades.  Sparkle Aplenty happens to be one of their glitter polishes that  is meant to be a dupe of a high end brand nail polish (OPI Metallic 4 Life). I know some find it an affront that companies are "ripping off" others for a profit, but I say so what? All forms of marketing or similar products follow each other's lead, and if something works, why not find a cheaper alternative? On that note, these Revlon polishes run around $4-5. One more thing to keep in mind is that this polish might be called Ritzy now.  I don't know why they changed names. Something to do with the transition from a limited edition to permanent? No clue.

L'oreal Nail Polish in So Chic!: Review & Swatch

It's not often that I'm drawn to a neutral shade of polish, but sometimes I'm surprised. L'Oreal So Chic! happens to be one of those rare occasions. This was part of the December holiday display, but I still find them in stores like Walmart/Target. These retail for about $5-6.
