China Glaze Happy Holiglaze Nail Polish in Your Present Required: Review & Swatches

Happy Mani Monday. As the winter/Holiday nail polish shades are coming into stores, it's truly hard not to get caught up in all the fun. China Glaze has their Holiday collection out, and it's name is Happy Holiglaze. Ya, a little silly, but it has a fabulous glitter bomb polish called Your Present Required as part of the collection, so no complaints from me.

As you can see from the display there are a bunch of different types of polishes from glitter, to holographic, to textured. You can really pick your poison. I just wanted the glitter.

I'm going to do my best and describe the glitter content in this polish, but there's a lot, so there's a good chance I might miss some. Here goes nothing:
  • white micro-glitter
  • small white, silver, green, blue, pink, gold, and orange hexagon glitter
  • medium gold, blue, purple, orange, and white hexagon glitter
  • large white hexagon glitter (rare)
  • extra large white hexagon glitter (rare)
As would be expected with a polish so jam packed with glitter, it's a little on the chunky side. However, the base isn't too thick, and the glitter pieces can be spread out. Usually there is an issue of not getting enough glitter on the brush, but with Your Present Required you need to be careful not to leave chunks of glitter. All in all, for the type of polish it is, it's easy to use. I didn't have to place glitter anywhere, just spread it out evenly-ish. Of course the texture of the polish is rough, and sometimes multi-layered on the nail. If you want a smooth surface, you'll need some heavy duty top coat. It lasted the average 4-5 days.

Swatches

Following are swatches of one coat of Your Present Required over two coats of Gap Luxe. I added top coat to keep the chunkiness of the glitter down. As you can see you get a variety of glitter color, shape, and sizes with one coat.

Bottom Line:  If you're looking for a glitter bomb that works well, easy to apply, and super fun, then you have your polish right here. For me personally Your Present Required was the only polish from the collection that caught my eye.
