Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara: Review & Swatches
So, it's been a long time since I posted anything. I know, I know. My schedule sucks currently, and then I don't have the will to do anything when my day is done. But I've been feeling guilty, so here's a post regarding the Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof mascara. I figured a waterproof mascara would be a great option to finish the summer (I still have a little over a week until it's officially fall).

This mascara is formulated with an patented "Spoon Curler", at the tip of a flexible wand that helps to volumize, lift, and separate lashes. Supposedly the best way to use it is to apply the spoon/curved side along the lashes to sweep up, then use the flat side to flare lashes outwards.
In comparison to the original Falsies, the Volum' Express has a huge wand that has a fatter width, making application on smaller eyes like my own a little difficult. I found it a little hard to use since the supposedly flexible wand isn't as flexible as the original. Once you apply, the lashes do get some volume, but in a sort of clumpy way. The formula is a little drier than what I remember from the original (maybe because it's waterproof?). Also this tends to flake throughout the day. All in all the effect is nice from afar, just not up close and personal.

Please ignore my tired, blood shot eyes. At least you can get an idea of what the mascara looks like on the lashes. The mascara tends to clump up a bit, if you look up close.
Bottom Line: Not a huge fan of this particular mascara. I like the original Falsies, but not the Volum' Express Waterproof Waterproof version. I don't like the fat wand, and I don't like the clumpy-ness.

some people like the clumpy effect but I definitely agree with you that I'm not feeling it either!

Uneven clumping is never pretty ;)
