Maybelline Blush in Coral Burst: Review & Swatches

Nothing says warm weather than orange blush to me.  So today I have a lovely bright orange blush from Maybelline New York in the color Coral Burst. This is one of the limited edition blushes that can be found on end caps and displays along with a lavender and bronze shade blushes.  I didn't really care for the other two, but I couldn't pass up an orange blush.

The consistency of this brush is like any other mineralized product. It's super intense in terms of pigmentation, but it can be sheered out to be worn on lighter skin tones (along with darker skin tones). It's a versatile blush, and a color every girl can use.  Depending on what your undertones are, the blush can look more coral-ly or reddish on the cheek. I have yellow undertones, but a pink face in general, so this leans more red on me.  It gives a nice almost "sun burnt" look without looking like a clown.  The powder itself is of nice quality, with a smooth finish. No chalkiness/powderiness.

Swatches

Coral Burst is a vibrant orange with yellow shimmer. The following macro shot is to show the pretty yellow shimmer (I know it's out of focus). The good thing is that the shimmer doesn't emphasize pores or anything bad. It just gives a hint of glow. It's like a highlighter and blush in one.

Below is a heavy swatch on the left, and a lighter blended out swatch on the right. As you can see the color can be built up easily, but still blended out evenly.

Bottom Line: It's a great orange blush, especially if you're on the market for one. The texture, quality, and value is all top notch.
